TEXT MINGLE #1: CYBERCHARM 💞
One way or another, if you find yourself opening your aXess Link device, you may notice a curious pre-installed application. It's called CyberCharm! Otherworlders skeptical or curious alike, and feel compelled to investigate this program, will notice that the interface's AI has been hit with a glitch, causing users to discover a pre-generated dating profile has already been filled out for them. If any users wish to change or delete their profile, they must do so before anyone else responds, otherwise they could be saddled with an embarrassing pre-generated profile! Once responded to, users are locked out of changing it for the next month! So please make certain you are satisfied with your profile before it's too late!

A grimace when he looks at his profile; he had left it blank because he hadn't been looking for a date and the app let him continue, but it appears to have been filled for him? And he can't change it??]
i didnt write it
my apologies azem
im not actually looking for a date
no subject
aw
a good fight sounded like fun
no subject
im not opposed to a good fight
[It would be interesting for many reasons...]
though im afraid a mage without magic makes for a rather poor sparring partner
no subject
well mayhap i could teach you a thing or two?
no subject
The response takes a little longer than usual.]
id like that
where shall we meet?
[He hasn't seen a good place for this sort of thing... not with these crowded streets and all.]
no subject
is a good question
im sure we can find somewhere suited for such activites
no subject
meet me at the lobby
ill get directions from a local
while you decide which of your adventures youll spin me a tale of on the train ride
[Since Emet-Selch told Rhea'li to ask Azem instead of asking him! Not that Azem has told him they've been on adventures.]
no subject
see you soon
[ And sure enough, they're in the lobby as quickly as their feet can carry them, eagerly bouncing on their toes. ]
no subject
Once they're on board, Rhea'li asks-]
So... have you decided what tale of heroism you'll tell me while we're waiting?
no subject
Ah, yes, it was a story you wanted. [ They put on a show of looking thoughtful before grinning. ]
I think I have just the story. The one about how I fought a volcano. [ Their grin widens as they lean in toward him. ]
no subject
You fought a volcano?
[Rhea'li leans against a railing.]
Now I must know how you managed such a feat.
no subject
A little backstory first. The Convocation of Fourteen — that is the governing body of our star — received reports of a volcano that was on the verge of eruption on a small island. As it is my job to travel the star and aid the people while also gathering firsthand information I was sent down to observe.
Now, see, the island is known for its grapes and wine production. And while the people were prepared to evacuate and the Convocation willing to let nature take its course, I couldn't very well let those cultivated fields of grapes be destroyed.
[ They pause, letting a slow grin crawl across their face as they wait to see Rhea'li's reaction. ]
no subject
Though their lives may have been saved, losing those grapes would be a blow to their livelihoods.
[Though he could see why the Convocation made that decision -- how does one fight a force of nature? -- he wonders...]
A volcano is not something typically something one would consider... fightable. How did you do it?
no subject
Azem nods, grinning broadly. ]
Aye, that is the rub, is it not? However, I have a friend with access to various concepts, that is creations of our own design for various reasons. This particular one was a strong fire spirit, Ifrita.
So the plan was this, bring the concept into being and use her to adsorb the aether of the volcano. Once done I then dragged her away and fought her into submission. Thus, the volcano didn't erupt and the grapes were saved.
[ They look quite proud of themself for coming up with that plan so quickly. They're thankful Hythlodaeus was able to help them out, otherwise they would have had to just let the thing erupt. ]
no subject
That is quite some lateral thinking. 'Tis impressive that it worked so well.
[He has a sneaking suspicion he knows exactly which friend lent the concept...]
I imagine the peoples who lived there were quite grateful?
no subject
Lahabrea's creations never cease to amaze, quite honestly. [ They lean in a bit closer ] don't tell him I said that should you meet him.
Oh, quite. They plied me with more grapes and wine than I could have possibly hoped to consume on my own. Good thing I had friends to gift them to.
no subject
It doesn't occur to him that if he wanted to pretend he didn't know anything about Lahabrea, perhaps he ought to ask a little more about him. But instead, he asks-]
Do you make any creations of your own, then?
[Azem had mentioned transformation, but he's curious if Azem had any hand in making concepts, especially if they find Lahabrea's to be impressive.]
no subject
A few, nothing as impressive, however.
[ They often came up with silly concepts just to get a laugh out of Hythlodaeus. ]
no subject
Still, I would like to hear of your favourite.
[He offers Azem a smile.]
Upon my star, magics of creation are limited to constructs, mostly in the shape of small creatures, easily controllable.
no subject
My favorite, hmm? [ They look thoughtful as they try to decide which of their creations to talk about. They have quite a few silly ones ]
Is that so? We have small constructs like those, though they are usually created by children. [ Some of the first creations a child might make are likely similar to a carbuncle. ]
As for mine own... I once concepted a squishy creature that was meant to give off light as it floated through the air or the water. It was rather cute.
[ A simple concept they came up with as a child. Naturally, it wasn't super original but it remained dear to Azem. ]
no subject
It sounds cute. Would that there was a way to see it...
[And lo, their transport has reached its destination. With a nod to Azem, he says-]
Here's our stop.
[And so he steps off and leads the way to the Agricultural district. He was told there's a field, not quite as developed as a park but certainly a big open area for people to exercise or play games, not far away.]
I hope you were not expecting a spar with weapons, for I've none.
[Well, none that are particularly useful in this situation.]
no subject
Well... we do have the holograms, don't we?
[ While they take their transport Azem plays around with the hologram feature again and manages to conjure up a little glowing blue, jellyfish-like creature to show off to Rhea'li. ]
That's quite alright, it's not as if I have my weapons.
[ They smile and take a moment to adjust their robes so they won't be in the way of their movements. ]
Ready when you are.
no subject
Once they're out in the field, Rhea'li watches Azem adjust their robes, tail flicking. He's quite aware of their difference in size and by his measure, Azem is more of physical fighter than himself and he's not so fool as to underestimate them.
The moment Azem declares their readiness, Rhea'li immediately darts forward and swings a fist up towards their solar plexus, intending afterwards to step back and away from Azem's immediate reach.]
no subject
They let out a little laugh as they do. ] Not a bad opening move.
[ Assuming he isn't thrown off balance by that, they'll sweep a leg to knock his feet out from under him. ]
