TEXT MINGLE #1: CYBERCHARM 💞

One way or another, if you find yourself opening your aXess Link device, you may notice a curious pre-installed application. It's called CyberCharm! Otherworlders skeptical or curious alike, and feel compelled to investigate this program, will notice that the interface's AI has been hit with a glitch, causing users to discover a pre-generated dating profile has already been filled out for them. If any users wish to change or delete their profile, they must do so before anyone else responds, otherwise they could be saddled with an embarrassing pre-generated profile! Once responded to, users are locked out of changing it for the next month! So please make certain you are satisfied with your profile before it's too late!

What exactly do you want to interview us about? I think there's only the... new arrivals accessible on this app. Hardly know much about the circumstances in which we find ourselves.

Surveying new arrivals is interesting in its own right. They may not know much about what's going on, but if there's any pattern to spot in who shows up, that's useful data. If there's no pattern, that's also useful data.

Besides, I mostly just needed it to not be the insipid drivel that had been auto generated. I may not get the local equivalent to a Pulitzer from the conversations generated here, but I won't get romantic overtures either. I can live with that.

Main pattern I've noticed is a lot of us have lifespans significantly beyond human. Just from who I've talked to, Alucard, Emet-Selch, Ereshkigal, possibly that bugger claiming to be Gilgamesh, and myself. But that could always be confirmation bias, I've hardly talked to everyone here.

Yes, I break that pattern, for instance. Normal human who's likely to have a shorter than average life span considering how dangerous my career is.

Not that surprised. But it'd be a weird choice. Journalists aren't liked much more than cops. Less, in some places. We're a lot more interested in uncovering the dirty laundry of people in power than reinforcing existing power structures.

I'm a newsie. I report the facts with as little opinion or bias as I can manage.

I don't know about that. Plenty of journalists also sell out and work for news corps. They get into a lot of places cops and feds would be unwanted. I admit the cops typically don't think about any approach other than guns blazing, but the NUSA feds are a different matter.
