TEXT MINGLE #1: CYBERCHARM 💞
One way or another, if you find yourself opening your aXess Link device, you may notice a curious pre-installed application. It's called CyberCharm! Otherworlders skeptical or curious alike, and feel compelled to investigate this program, will notice that the interface's AI has been hit with a glitch, causing users to discover a pre-generated dating profile has already been filled out for them. If any users wish to change or delete their profile, they must do so before anyone else responds, otherwise they could be saddled with an embarrassing pre-generated profile! Once responded to, users are locked out of changing it for the next month! So please make certain you are satisfied with your profile before it's too late!

Suppose I might've been, once, when I was engineering nebulae, carrying out Her plans, but that was a very long time ago. And only close as a matter of... relativity. No one's really close to Her. Not even sure if Her son is. He begged for Her mercy when he died according to her plan, and She was nowhere to be heard.

Dunno. She doesn't explain much of anything to anyone. 's all Ineffable, see.

I can only imagine that your Propagation and your Destruction interact in different ways, yeah.

[It's going to be a bit longer for Crowley to receive a response, because Ratio has to read that a few times before his brain will fully comprehend what it says. And he'll still ask...]

Your Almighty. Had a son. Who died based on a determined plan... created by his mother? Do I have that right?
thindarkduke: (aw really)

[personal profile] thindarkduke 2024-04-19 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Technically She was his father. But yeah. That's about the shape of it. I showed him all the kingdoms of the world... people talked about it as a terrible temptation, but I just thought... well, he was a carpenter. Didn't have much opportunity to travel. Thought he should get to see all the things he was dying to save.

[help this is getting too close to the weeds of christian theology I'm too jewish for this I don't know or understand christian theology what have I done to myself I cannot explain why jesus died I have no fuckin clue]

Let's... stop this discussion for now. This should probably be done in person, instead of via text. Beliefs like this are so different and should be discussed over coffee. [Or alcohol.]

[Instead, he's going back to something.]

Were you one of those... angels? And what is an angel?
thindarkduke: (what are you talking about)

[personal profile] thindarkduke 2024-04-19 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it might be. I wouldn't mind a drink of something. You found anywhere nice for one?

I was an angel, once, yeah. I'm a demon, now. I Fell. Because I questioned Her, I was cast out. An angel is... a being created to carry out Her divine will. To sing Her praises. To build a beautiful universe and then destroy it a bare few thousand years later. To do 'good'. Demons, on the other hand, rebelled, and Fell, and are meant to do 'evil'. Humans, because of the whole fruit thing, have the ability to be either evil or good, and we're supposed to encourage them one way or the other, which determines what afterlife they get.

Not yet, but I haven't been looking that hard. I've been looking for a library instead.

That explains why you know so much. You were there. Angels and demons then, are they a long living species? There are some like that on one of the planets in my galaxy.

Your belief system is quite... complicated.
thindarkduke: (I mean)

[personal profile] thindarkduke 2024-04-25 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
I found a library. It's a very weird library. An... entity manifested a scroll at me? Does seem to be able to answer questions about this place, at least somewhat.

Wouldn't call us a species. Not like we can breed. But angels are immortal unless killed with hellfire, and demons are immortal unless killed with-- well, nevermind that. We were created in the Beginning, and we've been here since. I helped make the universe, before I Fell. Was very proud of some of those nebulae.

...Wouldn't call it a belief system. I mean, the Almighty manifestly exists, as do angels and demons and Heaven and Hell and all. It'd be like believing in the postman. I've been getting in trouble for not being evil enough for thousands of years.

A weird library is still a library to me. As long as it has plenty to read, it should be fine. Especially if this... entity... is willing to answer questions.

[At least he arrived with his codex so he could take notes. This place was going to be interesting. And yes, there were going to be multiple pages with information on this conversation.]

Interesting. But do all humans believe in you and your kind? You know everything exists, but they don't have much proof.

thindarkduke: (one more thing)

[personal profile] thindarkduke 2024-04-28 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
There was definitely plenty to read. In a lot of formats. And probably languages.

Well. Yes. Belief system for the humans. Several of them. Dozens. Some of them believe in angels and demons and some of them don't. Some of them believe in various other gods that aren't the Almighty. There are schisms all the time, too, new kinds popping up. Dunno if it would even be possible to count how many religions the humans have. It'd be a lot of work to, anyway. And no, they haven't really got any proof of anything, so fair dos on them believing in whatever, or nothing at all. Lots of atheists about.

The best news I've heard all day.

Hmmm. Not surprising. We have some planets that don't believe in the Aeons. At least one that I know of used to follow different deities then the Aeons we follow now.
thindarkduke: (I mean)

[personal profile] thindarkduke 2024-05-01 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
The AI was right that the guy was a nerd, anyway.

For the sake of clarity, this is even though your Aeons are objectively real and there's accessible proof of them? They're not exactly as mythical as everything else?

[Gaiathra Triclops, close your eyes three times--]

[personal profile] booksandbathtubs 2024-06-09 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
That's correct. A man I work with came from a planet with a different belief system, not the widely used set of Aeons.
