Lucy stands, arms tucked around herself in a stance that she would hate for looking vulnerable if she realized how it appeared. The water before her ripples, and the vision of the moon and the stars and the Earth falls away, replaced with a clean reflection of the apartment building above.
She stifles a sigh, the back of her throat feeling too tight. She hadn't wanted to see that vision at all... and she wished she could have watched it for hours, stuck in her own memory of the moment. Lucy glances up, where she can see not just one, but two moons, the barest curve of them visible in the afternoon sky. Neither of them are the one she used to spend nights gazing wistfully at.
"I guess I wouldn't mind some meaningless ads right about now," she murmurs in reply. The next best soda brand on the market sounds a lot easier to digest than her own memories.
The woman next to her looks like she fits right in; just like Lucy. There had been others on train that looked like they were straight out of a movie, or the distant past.
"Don't get too close, unless you want to see something of your own," Lucy adds, getting some distance from the water. She pauses, studying the apartment buildings thoughtfully. "You're new like me, right? What's your take on all this?"
