[ the overarching brilliance of the city and what seems to be technological singularity ( with magic? she hasn't registered that part yet ) at its finest hadn't felt too incongruous for someone like faye. she's had to adapt to a new world, new forms of technology all on her own before--βwhat's having to do it again going to hurt? she only knows as much as she's been told but she can't shake the feeling that there may be endless opportunities afoot. for what, exactly, she's still trying to figure out, but one thing was for certain: this could be a new start for her. granted with four months worth of funds right off the bat being the real selling point here. she wouldn't have to struggle to survive. she wouldn't have to run. should she be worrying about debt-collectors around here? you know what. she doesn't want to think about it; instead, she chooses to take in everything unknown with a renewed sense of hopefulness.
after all, she is just as unknown to everything and everyone as they are to her. or so she thinks.
between the real flora and simulated bodies of water, there's a real peaceful ambiance around the complex that takes her out of the overwhelm of this vaunted reality, out of the mental void that was threatening to ruin her optimism. she draws a deep breath to fill her lungs with the purified air. it smells better than any city she's been in. taking her time, she ends up trailing behind the group, and that's when she spots the young woman ( who may as well be the same person in different font ) knelt down by the water. she slows her stroll just enough to casually observe her, to follow her gaze. something appears in the water and she stares for a moment trying to decipher it amid the ripples.
oh. it's the moon. only there wasn't a massive part of it missing. no. it's the same moon she saw right before her accident. all big and bright and beautiful. equally transfixed, she doesn't realize how hard she's staring until lucy speaks and it appears to physically jerk her right out of her thoughts. ]
Ha, yeah, or one of those holograms that materialize from vending machines to harass you about the next best soda brand in the market. [ faye scoffs and crosses her arms. ] It's all so intrusive. I'd rather look at the moon... what's left of it anyway.
waters of seeing. so excited to see a lucy around!
