So caught in the spell of what she's looking at, Lucy almost answers without thinking. She almost says yes, she can feel the word on the tip of her tongue, laced with wistfulness and grief.

But that word never gets said, because she turns to look at him first, and realizes abruptly that he must be from home. The thought cheers her, almost, if she were capable of that kind of positive emotion at the moment -- the shape of cyberware on his face, his hands, she recognizes the patterns made by distinct models. He has a lot of work done, more than most. But she's still feeling relatively friendly... until she gets a look at his eyes.

Arasaka. Lucy's expression shutters, everything in her body going cold.

"No. Just a BD I liked," she lies.

She stands, mostly facing away from him, and the vision in the water ripples and fades, going back to reflecting the sky and the buildings above. For someone with Arasaka patterns on his optics, he doesn't quite look like a corpo. Does he work for them, is he a fan, or did he just get branded optics and never bothered to change them? She almost doesn't want to know.

"I don't think anything could make me miss the ads from home. Or the city itself." Night City had been a cage and a place to disappear all at once, and in the end, it had brought more misery on her than she'd ever anticipated. At least this place might be a fresh start.
