[ It brings back memories. Lucy had seen the skyraces on her first day here too-- but it hadn't occurred to her to join in. Not even a little bit. She'd been too overwhelmed, too fucking confused about what was happening, too determined to disbelieve in the magic of the city.
But then she'd met others like her, and some of those Otherworlders had even been to other worlds before. Regular fucking universe hoppers. They'd been so nonchalant at the whole thing, and maybe that's rubbed off on her a little. ]

[ Lucy takes her own bottle of water. Pulls a slim black vape out of her pocket, considers it, and puts it back because it'd be rude to blow vapor all over everybody in the tent. She'll settle for just water right now. She trades nods with a few of the other racers, having come up against them before. Lucy's only been round the skytrack a couple of times, but you get familiar with the regulars.
Mostly, she just sticks to the side of the tent, away from the jostling and the cheery congratulations and competitive backslaps that are happening. ]
