If asked, would any of the locals (or even Seraphine) clarify what it means by "sharing the same destiny" at all? Like if there's any sort of deeper meaning to it, stories on how the phrase came to be, etc?
They would clarify that this means that, at least officially speaking, all groups in Magisteria, regardless of their origins, have the same legal rights as humans, but the phrasing/concept is also meant to suggest the city's aspirations of unity and cooperation among all races/beings, its belief in universal progress.
Would there be any information by either utilizing the devices or checking out the library about why the Bios in the world needs replenishing at all?
Yes. There have been some indications that certain groups on the tech side, and possibly other actors/people, mine Bios or draw it from the planet for various reasons. A person who investigates this using the library or devices would also find mentions of past wars, including a war 200 years ago, which depleted a great deal of Bios. The spirits in the Elysian Grove speak in vagaries about this war and its participants. However, one will find that exact/specific information on the nature of the war and its actors is difficult to come by for some reason. This is something that will be more addressed in the game plot soon.
Regarding the effects for the drinks and pastries, are those ICly known or are they a surprise for those who take them?
