The worst case scenario, assuming one of us fills Azem in, is that they simply refuse to acknowledge Emet-Selch and myself from that point on. The best would probably be that they eventually find it within themself to forgive or overlook our actions, for whatever reason. And I want the latter to be true, for Emet-Selch's sake... but I fear it unlikely.
